LA RECENSIONE

How wonderful to prove one's superiority on the field. How unfortunate to realize that everyone unfortunately continues to consider them "punk idiots".

With "war on errorism" (an explicative title of the group's stance on George Jr.'s policies) Nofx kick
1: on the purely musical side, it's a great melodic-hardcore CD, powerful from start to finish, even in the "contaminated" tracks which are clearly better than those from their more famous albums.
2: lyrics that showcase all of Fat Mike's irony and intelligence, amazing in moving from super-funny lyrics (she's nubs - Mattersville) to cynically angry critiques of Western society (the irrationality of rationality - the idiots are taking over) and emerging as a winner.

None of the 14 tracks on the list is weaker than the others; all tracks are inspired, the lyrics absolutely beautiful. Those who thought they were two-bit musicians will continue to think so only because they admitted it themselves (stranger than fishin'- pump up the valuum), but in w.o.e. there are some great musical moments - let's remember that we're talking about melodic-hardcore, forget Atreyu (but are they already out of fashion?) and any theme addressed is presented with irony and, above all, avoiding banality.

Maybe the ignorant will continue to condemn them to the role of punk idiots and the more disinterested emo-boys will accuse them of taking too extreme positions towards American errorists. The fact remains that none of the criticisms leveled by Fat Mike (who had been active during U.S. elections to raise awareness among youngsters about the power of voting through punkvoter.com) is off the mark, and it's clear from more than one passage that he did his homework well before writing nonsense.

Great music (yes, the usual old middle-core, but, how can I say... matured in the sun of California's intelligent side), great lyrics, very likable characters, anti-rockstar attitudes, 0 Mtv moments, immense credibility, etc., etc...
If not the best NOFX album, right after "white thrash" and "the decline" yeah....
For punk philologists (but not only) absolutely read the lyrics of "13 stiches" and "we got 2 jealous again"...
