Beautiful, really beautiful.
"Sulla mia pelle" is the debut of the talented Noemi, a singer who owes her popularity to the great talent-show X-Factor (her exclusion from the finale still cries for vengeance).
And it's great to have debuts so convincing. Ten tracks perfectly tailored to Noemi's wonderful, gritty black voice.
Impossible not to highlight the beautiful "L'amore si odia", an exciting and poetic piece that Noemi and Fiorella Mannoia interpret masterfully: a duet that is a little gem, thanks to two voices that blend perfectly ("ed ogni petalo sai si finge di essere una rosa per ogni goccia vorrei diluvio sopra ogni cosa").
How can we not mention the melodic rock of "All'infinito", the ironic, fun, and charming in arrangement "Per colpa tua" (composed by the leader of Baustelle) and the blues of "Sulla mia pelle" (written by Noemi herself).
But if I may, my preference goes to "I sentimenti": the lyrics are pure poetry, and Noemi's touching and profound interpretation makes this track a marvel. ("I sentimenti non hanno età,non hanno sesso né volontà,non c'è l'amore senza il tradimento, non c'è una storia che resista al tempo")
However, beyond these very successful episodes, which stand out for one reason or another, this "Sulla mia pelle" is a complete album, well crafted and arranged where every song deserves to be listened to and there are no annoying filler songs.
Yes, yes, we definitely need to keep an eye on this red-haired girl with a black voice...
And yet there are those who are still skeptical about the value of talent-show participants...
