Who built the moon?
Who built the Moon? Well, definitely not Noel Gallagher. Writing a review on this latest work of his in collaboration with Holmes, who also assisted in the production of "Chasing Yesterday," I feel a bit biased, but not too much. Let me explain, this latest work released in 2014 completely captivated me. The sounds were so britpop that they once again made one hope for the quality Gallagher had long promised after the Oasis break-up. But did "Who Built The Moon?" meet expectations? Well, no. The sounds are certainly more modern, more studied, but the modern progressive aspect of the album leaves something to be desired. The tracks are quite flat, almost the same tones. I can say the same about the composition on a technical level, where there's very little of the old Noel.
The lyrics lack that melancholic romanticism that characterized all the previous albums, the meanings are changeable but, in their own way, fascinating.
In conclusion, I can say it's an album not exactly well-structured, a somewhat vague album, but innovative, progressive compared to Gallagher's usual works.
Would I listen to it? Yes.
Would I buy it? Maybe.
Would I recommend it? No.
