NODe - Rcade

(EKP/SpaceRace Records)

Electronic music is a bit like bitcoins. Of the bitcoins themselves, only the incredible surges will be remembered. But probably nothing will remain. What will last, and what has triggered a new way of thinking, is the blockchain. The same has happened with electronic music. Thousands of productions have disappeared into oblivion. If you listen to them now, they sound incredibly dated. But, aside from historical groups from the 90s like Chemical Brothers (among the few, by the way, to approach rock with dance culture), nothing remains. What we have left from the 90s is a new idea of production, which shakes up every genre without any problem. With NODe, the difference is that this new production idea is appreciated but implemented without applying the cut n paste technique, instead layering the sound of electro with rock additions (primarily), funk grooves, a way of thinking about the growth of the track that feels punk, a wise use of keyboards, and a sprinkle of dark reminiscences that catapult us into the 80s. Moreover, there is a successful combination of two vocalists here. The male-female vocal duo sometimes succeeds, sometimes not. The duet is a double-edged sword. NODe shows they know how to use it to their advantage very well. It results in a multifunctional electro-rock album, listenable by many.
