I bought it as soon as it was released in Italy for the "modest" price of 75 euros (damn, in the U.S. it costs 49 dollars, which is almost half), and I can say that for a BOX LTD like this, I might have spent even more, just to have it (I've been a fan since the "Bleach" era).
It was about time that Mrs. Cobain "Courtney Love" pulled this infamous material out of the drawers of the cupboard that they've been trying unsuccessfully to extract from her for years. And now that they've succeeded (naturally with a hefty payment, I assume, from the distribution label to Mrs. Cobain), we can finally discover secrets never before revealed of a band as extravagant as it was fantastic, which always embraced simplicity in music and image and gave, although it lasted only a few years, various states of mind at each live performance depending on the song, for example, energy and power with "Smell Like Teen Spirit" and more opaque and rebellious feelings with "Rape me".
But that's not all because rumors (it is unknown whether true or not) say that this Box does not contain all of Nirvana's unreleased material, but only a part of it and the reason for this is not well explained; it is only said that some recordings and videos are too intimate for Courtney, so she did not want them published.
Oh well, what can we say? We'll make do for now, and who knows, perhaps in another ten years, Mrs. Cobain will change her mind and release the remaining material and they'll make a second box.
The box set covers the entire history of the band from their beginnings in 1987 to the tragic end in 1994 and contains 81 tracks, 68 of which are unreleased.
A shoutout to all the fans (and non-fans) of this band that marked the history of music in the now old '90s.
Take care and rock steady...
