THE REVIEW

This "Cane Telepate" is a difficult album to categorize. It might seem like a nostalgic Italian Beat album, and yet.......

The mastermind behind the operation is a certain Nino Bruno, who, with various collaborators, one being Daniele Sepe, records a series of songs strictly using, from recording to mixing, an 8-track analog system. All done with vintage instruments and effects.

The most obvious references are "LE ORME" from "AT GLORIAM," Italian beat, a slight vintage psychedelia. Mix it all together, and you'll have a series of songs that, like the ingredients used, should make one think they are not nostalgic, not to say stale. They have their own charm, a particular atmosphere, a "RETRO FUTURISTIC ITALIAN BEAT" to love or hate entirely.

It was recorded in 1999 for the label "Canzonette," and in my opinion, it deserves more than a superficial listen.
