Nick Turner is a legendary figure in European progressive rock music. A historic founding member of Hawkwind, Nick Turner contributed his unmistakable saxophone sound to epochal albums of the English group and space-rock such as In Search Of Space from 1971 and Warrior On The Edge Of Time from 1975. Later, he played a leading role with Nick Turner’s Sphynx. But the sacred fire of inspiration has never left him, as we can see in the new album where he takes center stage, namely Synchronicity, released under the name Nick Turner & The Trance Dimensionals. The Trance Dimensionals were formed in 2016 thanks to Steve Hillman, an English guitarist and keyboardist with a remarkable discography behind him. Hillman immediately immersed himself in Turner's context right from the first track “Destination Void,” which evokes “The Golden Void” from the album “Xitintoday” by Nick Turner’s Sphynx.

The music contained in Synchronicity is psychedelic, hypnotic, space-rock, and completely out of this world, as we can hear in the long (about 10 minutes) “Thunder Rider Invocation,” a cosmic ride that transports the mind to a dimension beyond time and space. Even “Night Of The Jewelled Eye,” with its tight rhythms, manages to be very engaging. We can also find 2 former members of Hawkwind as guests, namely Mr. Dibs on electronic effects in “Taken To The Limit” and the historic bassist Dave Anderson (who also played with the legendary Amon Düül II and with the Groundhogs), the latter featuring in the mythical final track “Children Of The Sun” from the aforementioned “In Search Of Space.” This Synchronicity is an album highly recommended for all cosmic travelers.
