American singer, songwriter and producer from Los Angeles known for retro rhythm & blues and soul revivalism and vintage-flavored production.

Time's All Gone (recorded at Gold Star Studios) and Never Twice (released on Innovative Leisure) are discussed in DeBaser reviews; The Tarots are credited as the backing band on Time's All Gone; Never Twice was produced by Nick Waterhouse and Michael McHugh.

Two DeBaser reviews praise Nick Waterhouse's meticulous revival of 1950s–60s R&B and soul production but find limited personal or contemporary statement. Both albums are noted for high-quality recording and arrangement (Gold Star Studios; Innovative Leisure). Overall reception: well-executed revivalism, contested artistic depth.

For:Fans of retro rhythm & blues, soul and vintage production; indie listeners interested in revivalist music.

This album is nice, buy it, download it, listen to it, but in essence it doesn’t say and will never say anything about who Nick Waterhouse really is.

Of course, don't expect anything innovative, that would be obvious, but just appreciate what is good music and easy listening, although a great friend of mine might also define it ironically and with a little malice as 'lounge bar music'.
