THE REVIEW

"20,000 DAYS ON EARTH" is the new documentary film of Nick Cave, an Australian rock.indie singer famous all over the world, especially renowned in the 80s/90s thanks to his work with his band.

The film is a beautiful musical documentary about the life of the singer-songwriter-author where Nick flips through the pages of his diary starting from a very young age to reach the present day; a journey through the music and thoughts of a lonely man but, in contrast, with many friends and collaborators.

A slow film, full of surreal images, a world unto itself, everything seems strange, blurred.

There are many collaborations from the past but it's the end of the film that is the real gem; a chat with Kylie Minogue inside a car. The friendship with Kylie began with the collaboration on the track "where the wild roses grow" which transformed the pop icon into a goddess of indie-pop-rock music.

With Kylie, the audience spends five breathtaking minutes talking about many things: success, loneliness, and friendships.

"20,000 days on earth" features some live performances from concerts and some stories about how certain Nick Cave songs were born.

The film was shown in Italian cinemas only on December 2 and 3, 2014.

A beautiful documentary in my opinion, I recommend it to everyone.
