Meyer is publicly known as the director of Time After Time (1979) and The Day After (1983) and for his work on Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan; he is also the author of the novel The Seven-Per-Cent Solution.

Overall the reviews recommend the films for reflection on technological peril and societal critique.

For:Fans of serious science fiction, Cold War era cinema, disaster/post-apocalyptic films, and film students.

For once, I won't spend more than a single line judging the film from a technical/acting standpoint because everything takes a back seat in front of a plot of such emotional intensity.

An unmissable film for both fans of the disaster genre and for anyone who wants to open their mind and not forget that although the Cold War is over, the nuclear threat remains due to the presence of atomic weapons in the arsenals of many countries, many of which are decidedly 'dangerous' such as the USA, Iran, North Korea, and Israel.
