HELL YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today the new album by Niccolò Fabi, Tradizione e tradimento, is out! But before I start talking about the album, here's a small note: what you're about to read was written right after listening to the album, so keep in mind that it was 6:30 in the morning and I heard most of the songs for the first time, and I just hope what I wrote isn't a load of gibberish. Happy reading.

I never actively followed Fabi, meaning I knew a few songs like Vento d'estate, Costruire, Una buona idea etc., but I never delved deeper. This changed when I heard "Io sono l'altro" for the first time, and I was left incredulous: how can this man write such human and relevant words without falling into rhetoric? Is he perhaps a wizard of empathy? A genius of words? Well, I already know that I adore you. It's been about a month and the entire album is out. I just finished listening to the whole thing, and I've been staring into space like an ornamental plant for four minutes, and I wonder: HOW THE HELL CAN HE DO SUCH THINGS BUT STILL REMAIN A HUMAN BEING? DID GOD SEND THIS GUY FROM HEAVEN TO MAKE US ALL FEEL LIKE GARBAGE? If you don't believe me, then listen to the album and continue reading.

Let's take track 5, the one in the middle of the album, "I giorni dello smarrimento", and think: Fabi took his moment of artistic crisis, turned it into a source of inspiration, which in this case is equivalent to words and notes. Or let's consider the opening song of the album, "Scotta": a minimalist and poetic text combined with a musical crescendo between piano and electronic arpeggios—where could that possibly lead? If you don't know it, I'm sorry, but it's called beauty. But in reality, the entire album is full of real gems: "A prescindere da me" above all, but also "Nel blu", the same "Scotta", "Io sono l'altro", "Migrazioni". And there's more: there's the title track, the most acoustic track of the album, "Amori con le ali" which feels straight out of the Stranger Things soundtrack, and "Prima della tempesta", which has the strangest lyrics in the entire album.

I guess it wasn't really clear that I liked the album. I recommend everyone to buy it because it truly deserves it and I hope it gets the success proportional to its beauty (a belief given that there are idiots like Sfera Ebbasta and Young Signorino talking nonsense while Fabi is there calmly playing the guitar).
