Poetry that speaks. Verses that stare at us.

Never has one enjoyed so much in covering themselves with melancholy. Ian's most sincere testament is found here. "Ceremony" is his last text, where he throws the saddest truth in our face. Verses that stare at us. watch us.

In March 1981, the mild English winter greyness, scented with new wave, feels the absence of Curtis. He left us in the most trivial way. Hook, Sumner, and Morris give life to the new path, the new "service." Bernard timidly steps into the role of singer, while all around is unjustly so blind and indifferent to a person who is no longer there. In "Ceremony", there is the design of a soul and all that it, perhaps too quickly, understood in life.

The true testament of Curtis strikes shamelessly straight to our hearts, and imprisons our mournful mind. A ghost seems to caress us, brush us, almost reassure us.

Even the man who breathes the purest solitude is missed by someone, leaves something. A melancholic cloud attacks the sacred candor that stands out with that gem.

Turning the 45, we find "In A Lonely Place", a prayer for wandering souls. A Gregorian chant advances in the icy lands of the synth. From the aware neurosis of the cage in which one lives mixed with fear, it shifts to resigned stasis. There is a path to undertake, as the timid voice of Bernard whispers to us, intoxicated by the ray of light in the densest clouds.

"How I wish we were here with you now"

CEREMONY
This is why events unnerve me,
They find it all, a different story,
Notice whom for wheels are turning,
Turn again and turn towards this time,
All she ask's the strength to hold me,
Then again the same old story,
World will travel, oh so quickly,
Travel first and lean towards this time.

Oh, I'll break them down, no mercy shown,
Heaven knows, it's got to be this time,
Watching her, these things she said,
The times she cried,
Too frail to wake this time.

Oh I'll break them down, no mercy shown
Heaven knows, it's got to be this time,
Avenues all lined with trees,
Picture me and then you start watching,
Watching forever, forever,
Watching love grow, forever,
Letting me know, forever.
