Hello everyone.
This is my first review and I intend to seal my entry into the DeBaser Community with an album that I find supersonic: ''Pissing Out The Poison'' by the ''New Bomb Turks''.
The quartet, originally from Columbus (Ohio), concentrates all of their anger and aggression in this album, filtered through a dirty and seemingly ''ignorant'' guitar and an obsessive rhythm section; all of which is then spiced up by the piercing screams of Eric Davidson, the charismatic frontman of the band.
The songs are fierce, ''bastards'', characterized by explosive riffs that overwhelm (overturn) you, but they still leave room for melodies that you can't, and don't want to forget. How can we not mention tracks like ''Tail Crush'' ''Cryin' In The Beer Of A Drunk Man'' (the band's anthem) or ''Out Of My Mind'', just some of the standout pieces in the long list (26 songs, including various covers).
A truly surprising band that has partly cleaned up the murky waters into which 90s punk had sunk, punk that had lost sight of its own prerogatives: speed, anger, but above all sincerity.
