"2" by the German band Neu! is an album that truly made me grateful for having well-functioning hearing. Why?
Here is some information before I delve into the reasons for my "happiness" with this album. Neu! consists of Michael Rother and Klaus Dinger, and believe it or not, they started their careers with one of the Kraftwerk members, representing a new hypothesis of rock between order and anarchy. Well... after this brief introduction, it should be said that "2" is part of a trilogy of albums titled "1" and "3," released in 1973, and it is the most subversive of the trilogy. The first track Für Immer (Forever) along with Neuschnee and Super are a true sonic/sonic revolution, sounding alien and radioactive at the same time. Lila Engel (Lilac Angel) is truly an alien(ating) rock piece, Super16 is a slow motion that dilates space/time, Super78 and Neuschnee78 contain magnificent amphetamine flashes, Neuschnee and Hallo Excentrico! are so eccentric/dyslexic that they defy description, Spitzenqulität with its tribal rhythms and Cassetto with its distortions are "groundbreaking." All these tracks come together to form what is one of the most beautiful albums of airborne/visionary German sound experimentation, made unique by a new, edgy and free rock spirit, which many years later would pave the way for something called new wave, already anticipated in the aesthetics of their album covers.

"Neu!2 is wonderfully failed records."
"Neu! inadvertently reached a new form of experimentation ... not time as the base of investigation, but frequency, its mathematical reciprocal."

This second work of Neu! fits perfectly as the most difficult, dark, and obscene work in music. But above all, it is Art.
If Astral Weeks is Impressionism, this is Dadaism.
