THE REVIEW

Hello everyone, as a true fan of Nelly Furtado, I really wanted to invite you to explore a very special genre of music: folkloric.

The Nelly album I highly recommend is "Folklore", considered by critics to be a great album full of personality! Well, I completely agree, but I strongly suggest adding that it's an album full of musical exploration and, above all, an album that, as Nelly herself states, reminds us through the lyrics and melody of the ancient traditions of peoples... of the various ethnicities, which are accompanied by Nelly Furtado's wonderful and distinctive voice; I know Nelly is not among the most loved artists, but if you want to embark on a unique and little-known genre of music that reflects true music, buy Folklore, while waiting for Nelly's new album: "Loose"!!

Nelly Furtado

Nelly Furtado is a Canadian singer-songwriter of Portuguese descent whose debut Whoa, Nelly! (2000) earned a Grammy for I’m Like a Bird. She shifted from folk-pop to hip hop/R&B-inflected dance-pop with Loose (2006), then explored Spanish-language pop (Mi Plan) and later an indie-leaning reset with The Ride (2017).

Folklore is a heavy and cumbersome album, not due to the complexity of the lyrics, but for the lack of freshness and originality of the tracks.

The singer still has to work hard, still needs to find depth and experience, ultimately she still needs to grow and find her own musical language.

'Folklore, indeed. Perhaps not the most memorable album, but undoubtedly successful. Pleasant, engaging and vaguely poetic.'

'It’s only pop but we (I) like it.'
