Neil LaBute (born March 19, 1963) is an American playwright, film director and screenwriter.

LaBute is known for provocative plays and films that examine human relationships; he wrote and directed film versions of works such as In the Company of Men and The Shape of Things.

One DeBaser review criticizes LaBute's The Wicker Man remake for poor direction, acting and screenplay while calling it an absurd, "so-bad-it's-good" cult experience. The reviewer ultimately finds it unintentionally comic and worth owning on DVD for laughs.
