Divergent- I divergenti, a film orchestrated by Neil Burger, is the first film based on the bestselling series of the same name created by Veronica Roth. The director, already known on the big screen for films such as "Interview with the Assassin" and "The Illusionist," this time deals with a world paradoxically misled by faction divisions, a world that craves peace but seems to have very little of it, precisely because of human nature, always driven to want and demand power for itself.

The factions of which we learn the characteristic traits in summary are:
- The Peaceful, who reject any form of aggression,
- The Erudite, who try to give a scientific explanation to everything and place pure rationality at the center of their being,
- The Dauntless, who defend the population and undergo training to be able to annihilate any kind of fear,
- The Honest, who, without any kind of filter, say whatever comes into their heads and hate hypocrisy, are destined for legislation,
- The Abnegation, the class tasked with governing, it is precisely their "living" for others that makes them so well-regarded,
- finally, we have the Factionless; indeed, those who fail to be part of any of the previous factions are then excluded from society and destined to become human outcasts, if not for the ruling class.

The film, released in theaters on April 3rd 2014, features Beatrice Prior, the daughter of the leader of the Abnegation. After taking the simulation, used as a method to direct young people towards the faction that suits them best, she discovers she belongs to a different faction, namely the Divergent. We won't learn much about this other group during the viewing of the film; we'll only know that they are feared by the Erudite for their ability to be prepared in various fields and succeed in everything, that they "must" die, and nothing more! However, the vast majority of the time will be devoted to Dauntless training, a dark group that jumps from building to building or from a moving train, and to trivial romantic gestures between Tris (the name Beatrice chooses once entering this faction) and her master/trainer/supervisor, Quattro.

"Obviously" the love story will be a constant in the entire second part of the plot and will be a source of newfound strength that triumphs over all actions and the diabolical minds of the Erudite who attempt a coup d'état.

Action, adventure, fantasy genre that, to be honest, doesn't fully convince, too many expectations for a film that is compared to "Hunger Games" on all fronts but has very little of it, except the classic training phase but certainly not the special effects, nor the costumes, which are sparse, nor the feelings that are almost non-existent, except for those who cannot do without the love story filled with predictability. Personal opinion on the film? Well, I can only say that as a plot, if they had spared us some scenes from romance magazines, and if they had focused more on illustrating the various dynamics of the formation of the people, it wouldn't have been so bad.

Rating 3/5 only because I have other expectations for the second chapter of the series for which Summit has already purchased the rights, "Insurgent," who knows if it will be the time when some questions get answered and where Tris won't seem like the only one of the class who has survived various skirmishes.

Well, that's all for now, I hope it wasn't boring or too verbose; otherwise, any advice on how to improve reviewing is always welcome. This is the first one I've written, and I would like some advice, not just criticism, be kind and patient!
