"Nice single, gives hope for the album"
But no, it has never been like that; since 2003 (Arrivi e Partenze is a separate matter) when the former rapper Neffa started producing light music, his albums have always been a big disappointment.
The previous "Molto calmo" was, in terms of average quality, much superior to its predecessor, but the electronic sounds of the songs did not convince much.
In "Resistenza" the singer returns to styles more suited to him, but the quality has dropped to disarming levels; only the title track, "Sigarette," "Colpisci" (but not even that much), and "Un piccolo ricordo di Maria" (truly a beautiful piece, the best of the batch) are worth mentioning.
Pellino's voice continues to be one of the most inspired in the Italian music scene, and his unmistakable songwriting, inspired by soul and blues tracks, remains the same as ever. However, the impression given by the pieces is that they were written without much enthusiasm, played not very well, and produced even worse (a bit like what happened in "Alla fine della notte, 2006").
The predominant theme of the album is the end of a love story (his and that of his colleague Nina Zilli), told in the various moments following it (at the exact moment, in the short period afterward, and some time later) and its disastrous effects on the songwriter's life and feelings.
Theoretically, it could have been a good album, but what came out is a bland pop album with a couple of decent songs, like all his previous ones and presumably, all his future ones.
