A great record!
This is the simplest and most accurate statement that comes from listening to Neffa's new album "Alla fine della notte". After Neffa's transformation from rapper to melodic singer, which brought many successes (e.g., La mia signorina or Prima di andare via), Neffa creates a decidedly pleasant album with a common thread of melancholy that, however, never closes the door on hope.
The single "Il mondo nuovo" that has had great success is nothing short of irresistible, with sounds that lean towards the ethnic, distancing itself from the style of the previous album's hits. The album opens with "Tanta luce" where Neffa experiments with gospel with good results. After the hit "Il mondo nuovo" one can listen to the excellent soul of "Senza ali". Then, the blues comes in with "La notte", another decidedly successful track on the album.
The pop-rock sound is not missing with "Tu non mi manchi". "Cambierà" (the second single) is a return to the sounds of the first album, which nevertheless is appreciated. Also excellent at the end are "Che sarà sarà" and the delightful "Tutto tu", a short and danceable piece. In short, this album is a mix of styles that is never banal, warranting a positive review. Also noteworthy are Neffa's vocal qualities and especially his skill as an instrumentalist.
A fully successful album and definitely worth buying. Enjoy listening!
