This EP completes the album Inferno, which I reviewed in March. It consists of two killer tracks that are very powerful and fast.
The Necrolust might have gotten us used to often gritty and sharp sounds, but in this EP I find more compact and dark tones. The guitar is fast as well as the bass and drums.
The voice is closer to Death Metal, and the lyrics focus on the misanthropy and violence that the current society has plunged into, in an allegory of esotericism and pagan rituals, with a nod to an occult and magical sexuality.
Redemption is a very aggressive song, it reminds me a bit of the old Sodom and the old-fashioned Thrash Metal but the track that struck me the most is Son of Abomination, a track with angry lyrics and Bestial Black Metal riffs with a deep and guttural voice. Blast Beats and Grind vocals complete the steady work of the bass and guitars.
The texts often mention the God Abraxas, a Gnostic Aeon very dear to certain secret esoteric societies of which I believe the singer is a part.
This extended play with soundscapes loved by early 90s extreme bands may only please the devotees of the genre; various fans of bands such as Deicide, Mayhem, Sodom, Morbid Angel, Archgoat, Marduk.
I would slightly improve the recording quality, but it seems to be a trademark of the band produced by Ars Infera and distributed by Sepulchral Silence.
