Fragments Of Insanity

Talking about "Fragments Of Insanity" is a real pleasure for me, as I really appreciate the work that the Genoese band has done (and for me continues to do) in the context of Italian extreme metal.

For those unfamiliar with their musical proposal, I can say that it is classifiable as an extreme Thrash Metal, that is, far from the melodic openings you can encounter when listening to, for example, a masterpiece like "Master Of Puppets" by Metallica or "Rust In Peace" by Megadeth. Not being very fond of track-by-track reviews (I find them useful only in particular cases, that is, when an album contains songs very different from each other musically, which, therefore, require an accurate description to inform the reader about what they might hear once they press play on their stereo) I will try to outline the essential features of this second work by our own Necrodeath: 1. the raspy voice of good Ingo (obviously back then there wasn't Flegias) which, in my opinion, suits the mood that permeates the work; 2. simple yet not trivial riffs and slayerian solos well inserted in the context; 3. Peso (for me one of the best Italian drummers, alongside Giuseppe Orlando of Novembre) always at the forefront providing a good performance behind the drums.

In conclusion, an album that I recommend to all Thrash lovers, a small pearl of our narrow, yet still good, national Heavy Metal scene. The only flaw that I can find is in the CD booklet, which is a bit sparse, as it consists of four pages: the first contains the cover, very dreamy, the second a black and white photo of the group with the customary thanks, the third the lyrics (you need a magnifying glass to read them) and finally the fourth a small collage of live group photos with the album credits. Despite this, a product for which it is worth spending a few euros.
