THE REVIEW

It was 1979, the sound of dance music was echoing and raging, Artists who had built their global fame in other musical contexts were sometimes forced and sometimes attracted by the rhythmic guitars of Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards who, although very young, like experienced captains, charted the course for those who had musically preceded them. And in this tumultuous and innovative scenario, a natural Talent from the United States was heard and appreciated: Michael Walden, aka Narada Michael Walden, drummer, film producer, but above all a composer with a thousand souls, rock, pop, jazz, r&b (and so on), all insatiable and inexhaustible, an artistic vein fueled like a raging river by an extraordinary and innate Talent.

Already before the single in question, he had made it quite clear what he was made of, but then, in the years to come, he would have the time to be multi-awarded: he would achieve several gold and platinum records, song of the year 1985 for "Freeway of Love", performed by a certain Aretha Franklin, best composer of the year 1987, album of the year with the soundtrack of the famous film "The Bodyguard". Even today, our legendary figure ranks in the "top ten" of Composers with the highest number of hits placed!

"Tonight I'm Alright" is not the best he could do; it is just a demonstration that M.W. could ALSO do disco music, reprocessing all its ingredients, to elevate its level. The track begins, a vibrant sound, echoes, and the bass solo are a prelude to the arrival of something that tastes good, only 2 simple and predictable chords are heard, but seasoned with never-before-seen or heard percussion that marks an irresistible rhythm, an elegant piano that warms the notes, unceasing horns and trendy rhythmic guitar garnish a truly delicious musical dish. His voice, an added instrument, sharp and highly charged.

M.W.'s sounds are of a thousand colors, from the same shades of his genius inspiration, those that make you recognize the versatility of a Talent, just to make it clear.
