I would like to introduce everyone to a great band I discovered by chance: the NAMELESS
They are a really great Italian nu-metal band unfortunately known by few. Since 2000, they've been playing in the best Italian rock concerts and have made a name for themselves with their mini albums (I say mini because on average, their album contains 6 tracks lasting a total of about fifteen minutes), I managed to get one but they are hard to find in stores and online.
The album I'm reviewing is really catchy for listeners of the genre and not just because it contains 1 track with neither rap nor pop (characteristic of nu-metal) but let's cut to the chase and start with the track breakdown. The first is called intro (original!: D) and it is only instrumental, I find it quite useless as a piece and I won't even describe it (also because there’s little to say lol), let’s move on to the real CD which (for me) starts with the second splendid track: it’s time to get a fuck up it starts with the characteristic nu-metal guitars but as soon as the song starts, it gets serious with the bass riff in the foreground (a usual trait of this band). At the tempo change, everything turns upside down: the voice veers and then resumes with a great growl after some screaming that concludes the track. The third track (kill) is quite similar to the second except for the voice which lets loose with the screaming only in the choruses; as already stated, the bass riff is very pleasant and in the foreground (here even more than the guitar) the track continues with a series of tempo changes that leave no room to breathe, pure nu-metal style :D.
The fourth and best track (nothing you) is the one I mentioned in the preface, it starts strong with the fantastic chorus (the singer is a bit off-key but nothing serious) with the acoustic guitar underneath and the bass that doesn’t leave a void. The following verses are quite syncopated; after them, there's a tempo change that leads to strong screaming that ends the song with grit. The fifth track (other room) features very heavy guitar and an effective but repetitive bass in the first part, not to mention the voice that leans closer to death than to nu-metal, in the following verses the repeated bass riffs are heard overpowering the guitar ones, and the voice softening. The sixth track is, once again, only instrumental and useless; it lasts, moreover, 40 seconds.
In conclusion, this is really a great album to try listening to for fans of the genre but above all, seek everything about them because they truly deserve a lot, and above all, let's support Italian nu-metal!!
