Very interesting album for this band after the previous "Vulnerabilia", released in 2003. The experimental temptations of their previous work resurface at times even in this "No CV", but on the whole, the tracks are more conventional and more played; less electronics and more guitars, which sound rough and distorted, but also soft and gentle.

"Lonely" starts breathtakingly with an almost off-key singing and a raucous chorus between Mudhoney and Pixies... magnificent. "Stumble" and "Dig A Hole" seem to have come from the magical pen of Wayne Coyne, after a boozy night with Gordon Gano. Beautiful and delicate "The Boy I Used To Be" and "Some Chemicals" that break the homogeneous dynamism of the track sequence and take the listener to an almost muffled atmosphere.

Overall the tracks are all of a high standard and there are few lapses in tone. The only flaw of the group perhaps is the lack of continuity and indecision on which path to take. Despite this, however, My Computer has been very underrated by critics to date and deserves much more attention. The talent is there and could lead them to an interesting evolution towards new forms of modern psychedelia. We look forward to their next effort. Break a leg.
