The EP that precedes the first, seminal album of My Bloody Valentine is a small gem in the form of a sonic trip lasting a quarter of an hour, capable of providing quite a few emotions to those who still want to immerse themselves in that mass of chaotic sounds, layered and overlapping, albeit present in a lesser degree compared to the following works.

The song that most adheres to the sound of the future is the opening as well as title track "You Made Me Realise," a frenzied journey characterized by Debbie Googe's tortured bass paired with an ethereal melody immersed in the musical noise, with a single pause (if it can be called that) granted by a minute of intense feedback, before plunging back into the sonic storm. The hypnotic odyssey of Beatles-like echoes "Slow" continues the discourse, along with the pop-folk of the sublime "Cigarette In Your Bed," while in the excellent "Thorn" and "Drive It All Over Me" we still hear the neurotic and naive punk roots of Kevin Shields reverberating.

Great for those who want to take short dives into the sound wall of the early "shoegazers."

Tracklist Lyrics and Videos

01   You Made Me Realise (03:46)

What did (you say you'd) find
Then come, come, come
Get the hell inside
You can close your eyes
Well you might as well commit suicide

Wait for me because I waited for you
No that's not what you should do
Don't hate me 'cause I don't hate you
Insane eyes
You made me realise

Something in you died
Well no, no, no, no fault of mine
Something in you died
Well no, no, no, no fault of mine
Make the (hell) out of what you can see
Maybe then you'll not hang beside me
Don't ask me 'cause I cannot see
Insane eyes
You made me realise

What did (you say you'd) find
Then come, come, come
Get the hell inside
You can close your eyes
Well you might as well commit suicide

Wait for me because I waited for you
No that's not what you should do
Don't hate me 'cause I don't know you
Insane eyes
You made me realise

02   Slow (03:12)

Oh well, you know it's up to you
Sugar think what we could do
Can I have a question
I'll make you smile, smile, smile, smile, smile

Sugar sugar you're up to my lips
Licking over everything I miss
And I got no reason
Just a slow, slow, slow, slow, suck

Feeling bad, feeling good
Feeling like I never could
Lick, lick, lick and suck, suck, suck
I want it slow, slow, slow, slow

Sugar sugar you're up to my lips
Place my head upon your hips
And I got no reason
You make me smile, smile, smile, smile

Well what the hell, we (we're) all the same
You got what I need, so don't play no games
Sugar think what we could do
I'll make you smile, smile, smile, smile through

Got the rush I don't feel no shame
On top of me you (know) while I don't know your name
And we got no reason
Just a slow, slow, slow, slow, suck

03   Thorn (03:37)

Walk all over me
Even though you can't decide
Look out, (jump back)
You'll be on your own

Hillside, slip and slide
Feel the pain, it's no surprise
Look out, look out
Thorn will be your love

I felt your hair across my skin
I didn't know where to begin
A shallow promise in my ear
No thoughts, no dreams, no wishes, and no fear

The rose is dead, your face serene
No memories of things that once did seem
To be to me important too
You give me flowers when it's thorns I give to you

04   Cigarette in Your Bed (03:30)

Falling down
I like to watch you
Crawl around

Arms untied
Scratching your eyes out
With a smile
Strange stare
Strangled by the blade left
In your heart

I glide by
Slip a cigarette
In your bed

05   Drive It All Over Me (03:05)

Cover up your windows Close up all the doors Time has come for me to really shine Pick myself up off the floor Things that'll make yourself cry Can be tied above the well Helplessly withering away But I'll never ever tell Run run away run run away 'Cause there's nothing left to say Got no one to talk to Leave me alone, I'm happy to die today Run run away run run away 'Cause there's nothing left to say Oh, the travel always gets me Get in the car and drive it all over me Cruelty in the winter Happy when you're down Pulling faces running after me And we're sleeping underground I didn't mean to hurt you Didn't mean to make you sad Wandering through all the memories Of the good times that we had Welcome to the fun time We're so happy here We've no minds, we might as well be blind We can lie together here You can come down and join us You're more than welcome to Even though it's painful to the ears But it might not all be true
