Despite already having a review on DeBaser, Mushy is a relatively unknown artist, belonging to the Roman underground, and has reached here with her second work (for which I obviously apologize should she ever read mine).

Her offering is a fusion of various currents unknown to me, but perhaps ultimately traceable to synth and electronics. After multiple listens, her work has definitively captured me, despite being obscure, complex, and also very dark, considering the author's own reflections about her compositions, as can be seen from the video of 'My life so far', and thus at least quite different from my typical listens until recently.

With a sound that evokes Dead Can Dance, that is, permeated by a dreamlike and melancholic atmosphere, Valentina (Mushy) proceeds with weaving a noteworthy work that takes off already with 'Dreams', a reflection on the autonomy of dreams, and where even pop inflections emerge (a unique case); subsequently, it captures with the remaining tracks through a long trip of moderately subdued keyboards and effects, which however overwhelm the vocals that seem more like unclear or incomprehensible murmurs. 'Night dress' remains minimal and bass-focused, while the following 'let me go' is more robust and rhythmic in the use of keyboards, also featuring more effects. The instrumental track 'All is found, all is lost' then concludes the album in line with the previous tracks.

An album that clearly will not excite the majority, also because the script doesn't vary much, but it knows how to envelop in its torpor, and I recommend it to those interested in the offering.
