It's been a long time since I wrote a review, it's true, but today I'm back with a double review of completely different things!
First, I would like to review the AMAZING concert that Muse held last Friday at the Palaisozaki in Turin! It was my first concert ever and I couldn't have started better...! As soon as we enter, we read funny signs like "United States Of Porchetta" and "I Belong To Muse".
At 8:00 PM, the little-known Biffy Clyro open the concert, a band that I honestly did not like, too noisy and cliché for my tastes. After a good half an hour of waiting, the lights go down and the 3 skyscrapers on stage light up... the notes of a synthesizer start and images flow on the fake buildings. "Uprising" starts: the stadium heats up and a roar rises. Everyone sings, claps in time, and chants "Hey!" with their fists raised. Bellamy starts off brilliantly, his voice is excellent and remains so throughout the two hours and ten minutes of the concert. This is followed by "Resistance", the classic "New Born", the electro "Map Of The Problematique", the audience continues to sing at the top of their lungs, to clap, to raise roars.
The evening continues with classic pieces and delicacies from the new album (in this regard, in my opinion the peaks of the evening were "United States Of Eurasia", "Unnatural Selection", and the classic "Butterflies and Hurricanes"); Muse also offer short unreleased jams: "Helsinki Jam", very Drum'n'bass and "Nishe", calm. The special effects are amazing, images run on the skyscrapers that trace the album artwork (during Starlight the kaleidoscope on the cover becomes a rotating dance-floor ball!) and often the faces of the three musicians overlap with images inspired by the concept of Resistance.
The band also performs the first part of "Exogenesis", unfortunately the strings are sampled (it would have been nice to see a mini orchestra playing with them). The hits they didn't play but I would have loved to hear? "Citizen Erased", "Invincible", "Assassin", "Muscle Museum".
As many already know, Muse will perform at San Siro on 6/8/2010: don't miss their concert if you appreciate them, because it's an event, everything is virtually perfect. Who else went to see them on Friday?
