THE REVIEW

Much The Same was a Punk Rock band from Chicago active from 1999 to 2007. Their second and last album "Survive," released in 2006, is a typical fast and melodic Punk Rock/Skate Punk record. Nothing new, in short, but still very engaging and superior to many of the more famous releases labeled as "Punk" from the past decade.

The band has the valuable ability to make the 32 minutes of the CD pass by without boring, simply doing their job without pushing too hard. The drums set the pace: slow and steady in the quieter moments, fast and rhythmic in the more lively ones. Everything is played on a great balance, with no sudden tempo changes; everything is perfectly marked between melodic parts and moments of greater tension, where the guitar riffs overlap very well with the lines traced by the other instruments without overshadowing them.

The album, therefore, flows quite pleasantly, avoiding the risk of making the listener yawn, and this can be more than enough.

Summary by Bot

Much The Same's 2006 album Survive delivers a fast and melodic skate punk experience. The band balances tempo and melody skillfully, keeping the listener engaged without feeling repetitive. Although it doesn't innovate within the genre, it stands out positively among punk releases of its time. The album's 32-minute runtime flows smoothly with tight instrumentation and steady pacing.
