Unanimal is the new album by Mr Everett, an electronic record that leans towards pure sound experimentation without too many frills, which makes you dance and shake your hips with the risk of turning every single song on the album into a true mantra, starting with the single “Burn the ground” a true single in every sense of the term, that goes deep, risking to settle in the most hidden recesses of the mind. The album runs at high bpm, an electronic whirlwind that recalls the best electronic music of the 2000s and somehow retraces the various past eras to then lead to an electronic orgasm full of synthesizers and sound hallucinations. Among the tracks that resonate more deeply during listening, we certainly have “Netrip” in addition to the aforementioned single. In short, Unanimal is an album to experience and share, to listen to and let others listen to, to know and recognize among the mass of records that are spat out by the market at the speed of light, many of which often without sense. Unanimal has a sense, a reason to be, and lives on its own, showing excellent form and extraordinary creativity, to surpass the throwaway plasticized music that we too often see circulating and recirculating through our ears. A good effort, more material is awaited to understand if Mr Everett could be a recognized reality in the electropop field. For now, well done on the first try.
