LA RECENSIONE

The aristocratic Movimanto d'Avanguardia Ermetico, after years in the underground, releasing hard-to-find demos, splits, and EPs, finally arrive at the release of a full-fledged album with "Stelle Senza Luce." I used the word "finally" not in a critical way, not to suggest that the album was delayed in seeing the light of day, but I purposely used this term positively, to describe an anticipation full of hope and curiosity from all supporters of our domestic underground. In fact, the band's early works, although not professionally recorded and with some compositional shortcomings, definitely outlined the profile of an extremely interesting group, a feeling that has materialized with the release of "Stelle Senza Luce."

The album from the Turin combo presents a mature band, capable of composing excellently structured tracks despite the considerable length, a band that has found its musical identity thanks to a personal sound, although clearly inspired by bands like Spite Extreme Wing.

In "Stelle Senza Luce," the production is also up to the proposal; powerful, melodic, and just the right amount of raw!

The album opens with "Decade di Isolamento e Aristocratico Distacco," probably the best track in the band's career, which, even from the title, highlights the group's intention to create an elegant sound combined with deep and sophisticated lyrics; an element that is not trivial considering that in a genre like Black Metal, writing lyrics in Italian without falling into embarrassing clichés is not for everyone. Although the track I just wrote about is undeniably the best, in my opinion, the real emotions come at the end with the tracks "Falchi d'Acciaio Oltre la Nebbia" and "Quando l'Onore Sfida l'Infamia," which feature samples from the film "Titus" cleverly inserted, making the final minutes of the record truly exhilarating!

"Stelle Senza Luce" is certainly not a masterpiece, but it is definitely superior to much of what Black Metal offers today with all its copycat bands.

Highly recommended!
