Rating: The Motorhead, led as always by the great Lemmy in 1995, released a very beautiful and interesting album called "Sacrifice". The album features a rather dark, gloomy, and wild sound that is quite engaging, especially in the best moments of the CD, such as the beautiful title track, "Over Your Shoulder", "War For War" and "Sex And Death".
The lineup consists of Lemmy on bass and vocals, the two guitarists Wurzel and Campbell, and drummer Mikkey Dee. The album as a whole is very good, containing songs that are still performed live by the band today. The sound recording is perfect, while the only less interesting tracks are "Make Em Blind" and the usual cliché rock'n'roll of "Don’t Waste Your Time".
The CD opens with the fabulous title track, which, with its heavy guitar riffs and Dee's explosive work on the drums, defines the heavy style of the work. Lemmy's voice is fantastic and adds a touch of brutality to the track, while Mikkey Dee deserves special mention for his incredible solos and rhythm work. It continues with the classic wild and "so fuckin wild" piece "Sex And Death", whose fantastic chorus reminds me of songs like "Bomber" and "No Class", managing to convey incredible emotions.
"Over Your Shoulder" is another beautiful track with a dark and heavy sound, similar to Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society, where the guitarists offer great riffs. Lemmy continues to sing divinely. The fourth track is "War For War" which has a more cadenced rhythm but is simultaneously very interesting, while "Order / Fade To Black" features a dark and heavy riff.
"Dog Face Boy" is a very upbeat and compelling piece, supported by a great performance from the band, which is in good shape. The tenth song "Another Time" has a fabulous chorus, with Lemmy giving his best. The last track, "Out Of The Sun", brings back almost southern rock sounds, equipped with a fairly catchy refrain and a great band performance, closing this other beautiful album by Lemmy & Co. in an incredible way.
