THE REVIEW

"Bastards" by Motorhead was released in '93. The album is a classic Motorhead record.

Fast and pounding songs sung by Lemmy, with his gravelly voice. It starts with "On Your Feet Or On Your Knees", followed by "Burner", "Death Or Glory", "I'm The Sword" which are all quite good, always in their style. Then comes "Born To Raise Hell", perhaps the most famous track on the album. Beautiful. Then comes the shock: "Don't Let Daddy Kiss Me". An acoustic song (even though there's a riff at the end) that always leaves me stunned because it doesn't fit at all with the rest of the album.

"Bad Woman" is the next song, bringing us back to the classic Motorhead style. "Liar" sounds quite classic. "Lost In The Ozone" is a song that takes us to a slower pace. It's not bad; in fact, it's one of my favorites on the album. "I'm The Man" and "We Bring The Shame" return once more to the classic Motorhead songs, albeit a bit different. "Devils" is the song that closes the album. Quite nice.

All in all, "Bastards" is not a bad album, but for sure Motorhead has produced better works. I believe the album is spoiled by the acoustic song and by the fact that the songs get tiring in the long run.

This is my opinion... looking forward to yours.

Summary by Bot

Motorhead's 1993 album Bastards delivers classic, fast-paced rock with Lemmy's signature gravelly vocals. Standout tracks like "Born To Raise Hell" shine, but an unexpected acoustic song disrupts the album's flow. While containing solid Motorhead staples, some songs feel tiring over time, making this album a decent, though not their best, effort.
