In anticipation of the imminent release (autumn 2009... we're almost there!!!) of the third chapter of the alien from space, I thought it was only right to give space to the monster's second work. "MoStro" that's right, in 2006 MoRkObOt returned to Earth to leave us with this second work, a decidedly enigmatic piece (like the first one, after all).
Immense open spaces where the wild fluid has room to leave behind only despair and anxiety, nothing seems to survive this alien, sounds disintegrate into screams, voices appear only for a few moments here and there to capture fear and the desire to escape.
Frantic rhythms at times, skillfully alternating with prolonged silences and long notes dropped into the crater, ready for an unexpected explosion.
Chaos is around the corner, and MoRkObOt knows this well, sometimes warning you with hints of total madness like in "Zorgongollac" the second track of this "MoStRo" which attracts not only for its peculiar name but also for the well-handled riffs and a truly innovative and unconventional percussion section. Whoever is behind this alien has certainly listened to John Zorn and his ravings, then reinterpreted them with anxiety and a lot of reverberation.
The Synths and spatial sounds make this record a monolith from a very distant planet, where time, as a unit of measure, makes no sense. It doesn't matter if hell breaks loose in just 2 minutes as in "Skrotokolm" or if fear stretches for 24 minutes of total terror in "Poldon", what matters is that humans understand that the alien can do with them whatever it wants!
They enjoy destroying their sound spaces, and it doesn't matter if instead of playing the classic "drum cymbals" they crash against pieces of sheet metal... everything serves to understand how things work on another planet.
In short, okay, I understand everything might be unclear, but it's practically senseless to try and codify this record in a normal way, here no references or similarities are sought, melody and harmony are not appreciated, MoRkObOt came here to shout in your face what it thinks, what it does, and above all what it wants. Destroy everything!
... and so we just have to wait and see what will become of us... or him, the next chapter we can listen to shortly but already from the title, it doesn't promise anything good! "MoRtO" will be the sequel to this "MoStRo" which in turn was the sequel to "MoRkObOt"... who will live will hear... the others...? Ask the alien!
Space record, in every sense!!!
