THE REVIEW

"Of course, Morgan is taking his sweet time...." "Well, maybe he went out to dinner..."

These and other comments were rife at the Pecci Museum Amphitheater in Prato during the frantic wait for the singer's performance. After a good forty minutes of delay, here comes Morgan with his "Silhouettes"; the usual look: tied-back hair, jacket, and ties (yes, because besides the tie around his neck, he had others hanging from his belt...).

No chit-chat, he immediately launched into the new album's tracks: "Animali familiari", "Da A ad A", "Tra 5 minuti", "Demoni nella notte". A flood of sounds, truly very engaging.

A small interlude with jokes I could spare you, but I won't: "afterwards, we all go to Ada's to eat!", hahah, general laughter and we start again, without jacket, without tie ("anyway, I have more on my pants"), but with the same style and the same music: here are the "Canzoni dell'Appartamento", I had almost forgotten them, "The baby", "Se", and others. Very well, open applause.

I didn't believe Morgan would also sing De André's pieces, but he does, and quite well: "Un Matto", "Un Giudice", "Un Ottico" are truly comparable to those of the master. Just one song from the recent past with Bluvertigo ("Sovrappensiero"), and it all ends with a very long version of "Heaven in my cocktail", "Altrove", and then the encore: "Contro me stesso".

Truly a great concert, engaging, moving, 15 euros well spent.
