Shines with dark glows "Waiting Again" (2007), the debut album of Walt Vandervelde, alias Moorlandt.

His deep, intense, passionate voice has the allure of a night flight. The Belgian artist whispers directly to the soul the restless shivers of existence, narrates of fragility, distances, and hopes with verses, all written by Walt, perfectly calibrated to the music. The result is a very intimate album, composed of nine tracks of extreme elegance that touch the heart with a dark and caressing atmosphere.

"Private Gazing" makes its way with the clarity of the piano and the sensuality of the saxophone, followed by the quiet melancholy of the singing. In "Yesteryears" the music is more rhythmic, sharp as the cold northern wind that sweeps over the cloistered nostalgia of the past. "Somehow" seems to want to alleviate this anguish: in the background, tones, like a telephone obsessively seeking a line, drive the search for contact between two lovers. One of the best tracks is "Waiting Again", played on minimalist piano arpeggios that evoke Eric Satie. The accordion unfolds in "Sail On", the painful and pressing ballad of a sailor caught in the waves of life. "Lurk Upon The Angel’s Shoulder" is a wonderful track: tense, intense, and with a breathtaking finale. In "The Sea And Us" Walt's voice alternates with Tan K’s female voice, significantly never united in a duet. "Nothing’s Left Inside" appears stark and dramatically desperate like the last glimmer in the darkness. Finally, "Ordinary Guy" is a sweet piece with guitar arpeggios with which Walt bids farewell and reveals a bit of himself.

"Waiting Again" does not fully reveal itself on first listen, but by letting the emotions flow its magic unfolds, track by track, to leave an indelible mark.
