Monty Python is a British surreal comedy troupe formed in 1969, consisting of Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. They created the TV series Monty Python's Flying Circus (1969–1974) and several influential films.

The group launched Monty Python's Flying Circus (1969–1974). Their work influenced popular culture (the term "spam" as unwanted repetition is traced to their Spam sketch). Graham Chapman died in 1989 and Terry Jones died in 2020. Terry Gilliam provided the group's distinctive animations.

Five DeBaser reviews celebrate Monty Python's surreal, satirical sketch comedy across TV and films. Critics praise Flying Circus and the major films (Holy Grail, Life of Brian, The Meaning of Life). Reviews note cultural influence (the origin of the term "spam"), Terry Gilliam's animations, and the group's bittersweet memorial moments.
