Doing what Meshuggah does in 6. In 2. And better.

Or rather, adding different elements, improvements to a perfect machine, a musical graft that is futurible, futuristic, futurist, whatever the hell you want. Utilizing an insane guitar class like that of Stian Westerhus (you can find him here and there with classless people like... I don't know... Jaga Jazzist) and a neurasthenic and muscular execution madness like that of Kenneth Kapstad (also around with riffraff like the Motorpsycho).

"Licking Your Wounds" is exactly this. A massive baritone guitar riff that cyclically breaks and shatters, accents shifting to prevent concentration and demolish synapses, to straighten where most appropriate, until an interlude of pure noise, crazy, whistles, noise, feedback, guitar trills, and drunken melodies, until tying the thread back on the spool, full of initial hatred. "That's Won't Fucking Heal" is a metal assault, on a straight drum, the guitar ends up breaking again into incomprehensible rhythms, artificial harmonics of the thrash school, and then pounding on a furious double kick that makes you get out of the way or die dazed, and where there would be a solo the guitar rises to become synthetic and slow under a psychotic snare/blastbeat roll leading to the exasperation of the finale. The title track plunges into the depths of evil, an onset of rustlings hides a sulphurous guitar, worthy of the abyss, a doomy and mid-tempo riff, dirty and circular, exasperating slowness interspersed with sick stop'n'go, and where the guitar stops being muted it opens up to mephistophelean chords, huge, overdistorted. And it's time for sonic deconstruction, Kenneth's cymbals resonate like knives in "Twist Of The Knife", Neubauten-esque noise antics, background rustlings, metal hit by everything everywhere, ending with a vitriolic blackmetal fury, the guitar becomes virtuosity, two thousand notes, two thousand snare hits, exasperation.

The only flaw of this album, if I wanted to find one, would be that the two didn’t record the infernal vocals they put on the tracks live. And live these guys are really scary. And still, they are only 2.
