Mystical visions with a cinematic flavor, audio-visual propulsions on disjointed rhythms.
Monolake, a decidedly "beyond" German project: boundaries, barriers, time, elements continuously shaped/molded in the triumph of the here-and-now, floating in a cushioned space, outside any canon. We immerse ourselves in the infinite modulations of the frequencies with the impression of floating two meters above the ground, in the total absence of gravity, lost in distant galaxies but close in the synchronicity of the artistic/ecstatic experience. Minimal, dub, techno, IDM...
Definitions abound for the sound collage of "Cinemascope," at the expense of a free and uninterested feeling, in an attempt to (dis)orient us further among the skewed reverberations of "Cut" and the imperceptible micromutations of "Ionized", up to the percussive obsessiveness of "Alpenrausch", where a thousand and more voices echo among the distortions, overlapping moments and fragments of messages in a disturbing mix with a post-modern flavor. Then darkness falls, we close our eyes, and the current pushes us far away in "Indigo", brief syncopated bursts fading in memory, like the slow fade-out that brings us back to Earth. What did we see? What do we normally not see? Pretentious questions, to which everyone will try to give their own answers.
Monolake provides us with inputs with "Cinemascope," an odyssey in space-time, not coincidentally dated 2001. Studied convergence of intent or simple Kubrickian coincidence? Go figure…
