So this is how it started...my little friend Ale, for I-don't-know-how-long has been insisting I listen to this album, which to be honest never really inspired anything fabulous in me...starting from the cover (sic).
...little friend ale: oh have you ever listened to the molli accett??
...me: no why? are they good?...let me see! mh....
...little friend ale: no look they're cool! Let me burn you a copy!
...me: ...ah ok.......(mumble mumble)
But hey, you can't judge a book by its cover! eh...so here I am listening to the CD in question.
The track list starts with a Son of the south: the beginning doesn't seem bad, but the song gets boring over time, with that same repetitive refrain...those same riffs...that same vocal style...I mean, nothing particularly exciting here.
But here we go with the second track: Moonlight dancing on the bayou. What can I say...little friend Ale said this was the best of the entire album... yes, okay, it's not bad but... not great either. Besides, it lasts a good five minutes. A good five minutes of boring, heard-it-all-before riffs and rhythm. Except for those little solos that are rather nice. But are we supposed to settle? No! And so here comes the third song...
Like the previous ones (and unfortunately the following ones too...sigh sigh) they are kind of, how to say...boring. Then again, it depends on your taste, but little friend ale these guys don't say much to me!
But let's move on: we're at Roadhouse boogie, for which the same applies as for the others, although it's at least a bit more "engaging."
No use continuing with this list. The rest of the CD in question flows more or less the same (starting from Time keeps slipping away to Behind the bedroom door, which isn't too bad, ending with the final ballad Rainbow Bridge, where the guitarist finally makes an impression). What can I say, little friend ale, to me your molli accett (with something like sixteen albums under their belt, not counting greatest hits etc.) don't say much...maybe it's the singer's voice, maybe it's the drummer always doing the same rhythm...bah. It's all a matter of taste. Well, maybe some other time, little friend ale...
