Oh my... I thought these guys, after two demos under their belt, were going to make a smashing debut. Instead, nothing, they just don't convince me at all!
When I insert the CD by these Molested Senses, "Heart of Worms" starts off slow and heavy, which, with the fairly intricate work of the drummer combined with the script-like brutal-death riffs, not too cliché, prompts me to expect a good listen. Then "She Saw The Light," "Give Into Sin," "Starborn Minds"... nothing! Or almost nothing, nothing noteworthy!
Then comes the fifth track "No Friends Here," finally something different, the riffs change, you can hear something melodic along with the excellent singer who has a nice obsessive and guttural voice (perhaps the only truly appreciable thing about this band!). Something good is also noticeable in the next song "First We Rape You," which in the middle part always presents less banal and more melodic hints. On the last tracks "Twice The Pain" and "So Called Promise," nothing else to note. The usual songs with the usual rhythms that define the entire CD.
The problem is that when you get the feeling that everything is taking off in a song, the typical slowdown arrives immediately, always the same and boring. In some songs, they manage to really strike, but there is a lot of stagnation, and in some compositions, it's incredibly dull. They can't even reach adequacy with this album, indeed, they still have a long way to go.
Spending twenty euros on these works is complete nonsense, so rather buy yourself a nice pack of blank CDs which are useful in cases like this!
