'Passionate'

is without a doubt the term that best identifies my experience with this work by Mistonocivo: I eagerly awaited its release, I took it home with satisfaction, I inserted it into the player for the first time with hope, I faced the first listens with suspicion and confusion, and with wonder, dedicating more time and attention to it, I appreciated its depth, versatility, and beauty.

Are they still the band I knew? Yes. And no, because this album is much less immediate than Virus, where the scents of the new work wafted in the air just in 'Shvrentz', of the catchy songs of the first album only something remains, which, with the exception of the sweet ballad 'In Una Foto' in collaboration with L'Aura, served only as a starting point: throughout the album you can feel the enormous energy used to define truly interesting structures (above all 'Favola' with a Teutonic pace that flows into a Deftones-like interlude only to continue into a noisy finale; 'Circling' also proves interesting), arrangements that are truly well-orchestrated (in '7' the vocal part of the chorus is doubled by the bass in a melodic lament that can only be called idyllic, but it's just an EXAMPLE) and incredible and perfect sounds (A-L-L of them).

Cristiano Cortellazzo often, besides creating truly original lyrics as he had already accustomed us to, creates emotionally grand 'word-melody-timbre' unicum proving to be a capable interpreter of his compositions and the spirit of the band and the song; the drums, beyond a sound that is up to or perhaps superior to what is achieved internationally, transits with extreme naturalness and credibility between heavy rock and drum-n-bass (!!!); the guitar makes the Terry Date (Deftones) production most felt of all, placing arpeggios well-seasoned with effects while preparing for the big bass-filled chords of the choruses; and precisely the bass may perhaps be the most surprising instrument for its very original parts, often made of chords and arpeggios (!) occasionally skillfully effected; the keyboards are what I will elaborate on least, as what I have already written in the Virus review is confirmed: they fill everything with sounds, carpets, and strange noises, sometimes overpowering, sometimes almost imperceptible but making the pieces Made in Vicenza unmistakable.

Every instrument surpasses clichés and in every way serves the song by any means possible, and every bass riff, guitar effect, piano motif, electronic sound or drum pattern finds its place, simple or complicated as it may be, giving rise to an extremely balanced acoustic picture, rich in dynamics, delicately dreamlike even in the most aggressive outbursts, in short, beautiful. Truly beautiful.
