THE REVIEW

I was born just in time to witness the last throes of a music industry still capable of making the physical version of an album akin to a document, a testament to a life confined to a specific period. When splits came along, it was love at first listen: more artists, therefore more stories and an unparalleled immediacy of listening. Today, music is everywhere, except where it would be appropriate to find it. In records, precisely.
That's why an EP by the Ministri is great news, as always when talking about the Milanese trio, this time more than ever a providential balm for distracted Sunday afternoons under the umbrella.

Music always made as an act of responsibility, for the second time in their career published through an ideal medium to carry out a broader reasoning than a single but with the ability to keep attention high thanks to the small number of tracks.

"Cronaca Nera e Musica Leggera" is the snapshot of an expressive urgency aware of asking many questions and being able to give few answers, no truth dropped from above with the arrogance of the alternative musician of the moment, the pleasure of rediscovering oneself human in the completion of a reflection becoming less of a habit and more of a wonder.

There's a lot of craftsmanship in this new work from the renowned firm "Divi & Co.", starting with the sound: raw, of that imperfection that belongs to nature, to the truth, therefore in continuous change towards itself and the air through which it is allowed to vibrate, thus being able to blur and overturn perspectives with each listen.

The attention to the lyrics, never so aimed at hiding the meaning behind the words to manipulate it, transform it, reinvent it, means that the new music of the Ministri becomes one's own from the first listen, accompanied by a wide range of paradoxes through which to learn to embrace with patience and tolerance those who have another truth.
The sublimation of the sharing spirit of art, catharsis, a forge of thought.

In a difficult moment for the entire category, the Ministri defend, indeed, claim their combative spirit with renewed awareness of their means, without ceding an inch of ground to musical compromise and being found thoroughly prepared for the confrontation with the present.

I was wrong. Music, the Italian kind, can still be found in records. Trust me.
