A perfectly calm sea, the mainland on the horizon, a few slight ripples on the water caused by a very gentle breeze at sunset while the last rays of sun illuminate the silhouette of a boat. There couldn't be a more suitable cover for "EndSerenading", the second and final album of the American band Mineral.

The sense of calm that this record conveys is something ethereal, intangible, whose existence however cannot be questioned. The razor-sharp riffs that characterize "The Power of Failing" are absent, but it doesn't matter because before our eyes we have another album of enormous stature. Here, great space is given to arpeggios and particularly sweet melodies, we find very few raw guitars, but the mind travels equally through rarefied atmospheres and sounds that have the clear purpose of lulling the listener, keeping warm even if outside there are 20 degrees below zero. With the many sensations it can give, this album should be listened to in special moments and places: in the middle of a meadow, under a starry sky on a summer night, or at night, in the dark and with eyes closed, leaving the head free of superfluous thoughts, allowing the possibility to "travel". I don't know, it's up to you, but this record needs to be lived and not just listened to.

What sound does peace have? Probably this.
