One of the albums I love the most by Mina is from '79 and the year before she decided not to appear anymore to mind her own business.

It starts with Tiger Bay, a song I adore for the energy it releases and for the long final solo, here Mina sings like a black woman and I find that English flatters her voice. It follows with Ma Ci Pensi where the singer stops singing and starts talking about love becoming sweeter even if the song is what it is... it recovers with Se Il Mio Canto Sei Tu where the balanced yet somewhat shouted interpretation, with Mina doing a big voice between erotic and aggressive, fits well with the lyrics "and your mouth that mysteriously opened on me... but if my song is you, it's worth believing in it again...".

One of the most beautiful pieces on the album is Non Tornerò where with sweetness and grace, Mina talks to us about the painful end of cohabitation and the new independence of afterwards "I enjoy life, I have no more prohibitions, I decide on my own and then... I don't think about you, I have a thousand projects, I am full of friends, I have taken courage again, I buy clothes and go out in the evening... and you? Do you ever think of me...?". Mina's balanced anger returns in Che novità where there is total confusion after trying to change, to love in an already empty relationship "and then over there... on the bed that has seen us love many times like true lovers do... and my thoughts chase shadows in my mind... and I understand nothing, and I understand nothing...". I love Mina when she sings these melodramas giving them a melodramatic and tragic voice. It follows with Bonne Nuit, a dull piece, and Senzazioni, another piece with mediocre lyrics, and the song holds only for Mina's voice that throws itself in the chorus, in this album we must say that when Mina shouts she really has a voice like a tiger, like Attila or angry and it renders very well, as in the song Il Vento where you are inevitably drawn to scream with her "I'll rebel!!!! I'm leaving!!!!".

We return to English with Don't Take Your Love Away where once again with English, Mina reaches a level of perfection and a very sophisticated interpretation of the piece and follows Rock And Roll Star where the interpretation is a bit exaggerated and hilarious like a rock star. They follow with Fiore Amaro and Sei Metà, where the usual mediocre lyrics return: if Mina limited the songs on an album and trimmed many songs that say nothing, maybe she would make masterpieces... In fact, with the following song Anche Tu, about complicity and the illusions of love, she reaches the maximum, and rising slowly with tone till her magnificent screams perfectly fit a splendid song "even you now I no longer believe in it, it's a touch of vanity, a marble to my freedom I say it if you really want to, you're not the first to whom I would say it: What a surprise, what a man you are!! There is no better lover you know!" Beautiful song, especially when driving shouting at the top of your lungs.

With Street Angel Mina has nothing to envy to certain American singers, as well as with Shadow Od My Old Road where her whole power and magnificent range emerges. It concludes with the splendid Anche Un Uomo where the words speak, and her voice dresses them with emotion: "even a man can always have a soul but don't believe that he'll use it to understand you... even a man can be very sweet especially if in the world now you are all he has left..."
