❝ It is, in fact, a very pleasant album from start to finish, a delicate, sometimes gentle album, in which Mike Stern, while being in the forefront with his guitar, showcases his great talent without exceeding in unnecessary protagonism and deplorable mannerisms.
❝ and above all, a “Moodswings” to die for.
❝ The record is beautiful; as mentioned, the tracks follow one another without straining the ear, which luxuriates in the cascade of scales, arpeggios, and patterns played almost in a whisper, with the rhythmic accompaniment wisely reduced to the essential.
❝ Mike Stern is a great guitarist, he plays what lovers of definitions call “bop n’ roll,” which would be jazz-rock, in his own way, but still jazz-rock.
❝ An admirable and impressive concert in its simplicity, also because Mike live comes across as an ordinary player, he never showed off throughout the concert, he didn’t play for the audience, he played just for the joy of it, perfectly succeeding in the endeavor.
❝ Mike Stern is instantly recognizable. He has a very original sound, emerging from his beautifully heavily modified Telecaster.
