MIKE MESSINA - Around Me

(Tunecore)

Around Me is the debut album by Mike Messina, who at 36 lands on the Italian pop-rock scene to offer us a little masterpiece.

It's an album born almost by chance, from circumstances that challenged his view of reality, explains Mike: "Triggering events are strange creatures. If we think about it, they often hide behind completely insignificant situations, gestures, or words. Yet sometimes they are the famous drop that makes the cup overflow. And it is here that the seed of the album begins to find its place. A warm ground."

From these circumstances and the discovery that writing provided an interesting point of reference for his thoughts, and the fun in musical composition finally gave the right space to his inner sounds, thirteen tracks were born, captivating the listener in a beautiful sound and reflective experience.

A journey that goes from melancholic melodies (Around Me) to lighter and carefree pieces (Good or Bad and To Find), or finds itself in bright settings (The Man in Pieces) that can quickly turn into tense atmospheres, made of misjudgments and estrangement (Openly Undeserved or Infinite Moment), but which still maintain a sweet and positive, aware aftertaste.

There is no lack of lively pieces (like Don't Know Anymore or Wait for Me) and even citations of great authors who have influenced Mike (Martina or Pearls), particularly Battiato.

In short, a complete album that enchants and makes one think.
