THE REVIEW

An album to hold close for the coming winter.

I found very little, almost nothing, about this artist online: their name is miffle, they're from Poland, and they say their mind is a tape loop. goodbye, world! is in fact a little box set belonging to tape music, but flirting with ambient, folk, and drone, lo-fi to the nth degree. The tape is wrung out mercilessly, between dark snowstorms and haunting violins, ramshackle guitars and sublime peaks of noise. Everything begins like one of those minuets we learned as children and soon evolves into a surreal journey among cold blue stars, up to the quiet chaos of long walk home and the sweet purring of a Siamese cat.

Be kind to cats: unlike humans, they will always give back to you.

An album for someone who's no longer here, an album where absence means as much as presence; an album for those who love watching snow fall softly in an orange glow, or rather for those who love to remember it, since here it hardly ever snows anymore.

See you next time.
