Mick Ronson (born 26 May 1946, Hull — died 29 April 1993) was an English guitarist, arranger and producer, best known for his work with David Bowie as part of the Spiders from Mars and for collaborations with Lou Reed, Ian Hunter and others.

Born 26 May 1946 in Hull, England. Died 29 April 1993. Best known as David Bowie’s guitarist/arranger in the Ziggy Stardust era; contributed to Lou Reed's Transformer and worked with artists including Ian Hunter, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Annette Peacock and Morrissey. Died of liver cancer; Heaven and Hull was released posthumously in 1994.

Reviews praise Mick Ronson's guitar work, arrangements and collaborative spirit, especially with David Bowie and Lou Reed. His 1974 solo debut Slaughter on 10th Avenue is repeatedly highlighted. The posthumous Heaven and Hull is discussed with sympathy for incomplete vocals and diminished tone. Live takes (notably Space Oddity) showcase his forceful presence.
