Music & me is the album that, on one hand, will lead Motown to prefer solo projects for Michael rather than all the Jackson 5, but on the other hand, the audience's fatigue with young Michael won't bring the record the success of the first two.
It opens with With a child's heart, and right from here, you notice the maturation of the singer from Gary's voice. In the second song, Up again, there's a greater presence of the piano in this record compared to the previous two works.
All the things you are passes without infamy and without praise, while Happy is a beautiful track, the soundtrack of the movie Lady Sings the Blues with Diana Ross, just as Ben was the soundtrack of the film of the same name.
To close side a, the crescendo of Too young, while opening side b is Doggin' around, overall a good track.
Jonnhy Raven is also pleasant, less so, despite the title, Euphoria.
Morning glow and Music and me are two beautiful songs that give the album a more stretched passing grade compared to the first two albums, where the score is more convincing.
Another two years pass and Michael will publish the last solo album of his youth period, Forever, Michael.
