THE REVIEW

First of all, let me introduce myself, I'm MarcoSanitarium, and as you can tell from this first review, I'm a fan of Metallica... (I also listen to Black Sabbath, Manowar, Morbid Angel, Slayer)

What I'm about to review is their latest album "Death Magnetic".

Metallica is an American thrash metal band, formed in 1981. They have sold more than 100 million records and are, if not the inventors, one of the most important metal bands. But let's leave the biographical notes aside and get to the album!

First of all, the cover is very nice, in full thrash style, a genre they first invented and then brought to the world... But let's leave the cover talk to the posers, it's the album we care about XD. James is always number one with his powerful and manly voice, Lars is excellent, Kirk, plus the new entry Robert Trujillo, are no less, and their way of playing is, how shall we say... MAGNETIC!!

But let's get to the album, it begins with This Was Just Your Life, and The End Of The Line, good tracks supported by nice solos by Kirk Hammet! Broken Beat And Scarred is very technical, and Metallica remind us that they are second to none on the scene, same on All Nightmare Long, a very aggressive song.

The Day That Never Comes and Cyanide are nice, but a bit too light for those who are well accustomed to "Master Of Puppets". Unforgiven III is a very sweet and emotional ballad. The Judas Kiss and Suicide And Redemption show us the great technique achieved by those with years and years of supremacy in the scene. Finally, My Apocalypse is enjoyable, but it's a track more suited to headbanging than simple listening!!

In conclusion, a nice album, the criticisms from the most die-hard antis (emo, posers, etc.) have been many, and it's not entirely wrong, obviously it's not "Master Of Puppets", nor "And Justice For All", but it's played with the usual mastery, and moreover, it has done very well. In short, should you decide to buy it, it will stay on your stereo for a long time!!

I want to point out that this is my very first review ever, so if there are any mistakes, know that I still have room for improvement!!!!

Metallica

Metallica is an American heavy metal band formed in 1981 by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. They rose from the Bay Area thrash scene with early albums like Kill 'Em All and Ride the Lightning, achieved mainstream success with 1991's Metallica (The Black Album), and have released a long-running and often debated catalog since.

"Death Magnetic would undoubtedly win the Grammy for the most talked-about album ever."

 "Welcome back, Metallica!"

By Anatas

"They should have titled the album 'Jamescantameglio' instead of 'Death Magnetic.'"

"'The Unforgiven III' sounds really bad, it's ugly, pathetic, pitiful."

By Psycroptic

With this album, the rediscovered Four Horsemen ride high again on the treacherous paths of Thrash Metal.

Death Magnetic is better than the infamous Black Album, which I never considered more than a good album.

By progandrea

"Death Magnetic shows that a new golden age for Metallica is impossible."

"All nightmare long' is the song that shows how Metallica, especially Hetfield, can still give a lot."

By Descanting

"Robert Trujillo represents one of the two main strengths of the work; incidentally, the other is the rhythm guitar."

"If the entire CD had been at the level of 'The Judas' Kiss,' one might have even been moved by such well-crafted metal in these dark years for the genre."
